Why do you want to buy this app? I bought it because often Im in a store and Im looking at an item to buy and I think to myself, "Do I have the money in my budget to buy this?" Perfect -- Ill use this great app to tell me. Guess what? This app is pretty much USELESS for that. Sure, it tell me all my balances for all my accounts and even shows me all the envelopes for all my accounts. BUT, THERE IS NO "TOTALS" AREA!! Thats like the only thing I use on my Mac! TOTALS guys, is missing. So, if youre like me and you have 5 different accounts.. Well, youve have to add and subtract in your head for the specific envelope you are trying to get a "total balance" for. WAIT.. Dont we have an iPhone that could do that for us?? Hello? So, I recommend that you save your money on this app until the "Totals" is on the iPhone. Until thats there, what the heck is the point of this app? To balance my budget?? I dont think Im going to attempt that one on my iPhone. :)

Ive been a Budget user for years, and as a companion app Budget Touch has been a really nice addition. Commenting on a couple of things in other reviews Ive seen: There is no "Totals" account per se, but the envelope total (that is, the combined total for the envelope across all accounts) is printed on each envelope itself, in smaller type below that accounts envelope total. Those that say that this app has a steep learning curve if youre not familiar with the desktop app, I think have a good point. But as a user of the desktop app myself Im not sure I can say that for sure. What I can say is that Budget and Budget Touch are the best implementation that Ive found of the envelope budgeting system. It wont solve debt problems, but it will give you a valuable tool in maintaining your budgeting and savings habits. Also note that the developer has historically been very communicative on his sites forums, which is a plus.

It seems that a lot of the problems for standalone users have been addressed, though I cant speak for myself, as I use this as a companion to the pc version. I can say that as a companion app it is great. Its so nice to finally have my virtual envelope system working like a real one--when shopping I can reference my envelopes at any time and even update them with any purchases I make. Then when I get home, syncing is a breeze. My wife and I both use the app and sync both our devices with one file on the pc. No weird conflicts or problems!

One big change for me would be the envelopes. I understand it is an envelope system but I would like the option to view with out the pretty pictures.

Well, we have had it up and running for only about a week and we love it. I got it mainly for my wife to use and she likes it and, more importantly, will use it. She is about to retire and, with the loss of her income, we need to watch our spending more closely. She is to be in charge of 5 envelopes, Groceries, Gifts,Gasoline, Charity, and Dining Out with corresponding Checking Account and Credit Card. I have been keeping our budget on Quicken and will continue to do so, principally because it has investment tracking and more comprehensive/flexible reporting capabilities. Budget Touch does exactly what I wanted. Its accurate, easy to use, and sexy. I had tried the competition, principally YNAB, and in my opinion, it was far too complicated to appeal to my wife. This product is so easy too use that it appears to be simplistic. Its not and it does all we need, wonderfully. Now if we ever get to the point where downloads for credit cards is available like it is in Budget for Windows. I hope this glowing review doesnt jinx the app as it usually does on Windows.

I have been teaching the Envelope system to my students for years. I have used desktop Budget for just under ten years. The developer is unlike any company out there. I have a question, a problem, or a recomendation i often get a reply that day. Ideas from consumers have helped build and continue to fine tune Budget. Its a great program. Once that concept registers you cant imagine Budgeting any other way. This app is amazing in itself and completes an all around budgeting system that the desktop version revolutionalzed for me. It will help you. Take the time to learn the system and your golden.

Very disappointed that the mobile version does not sync the visible/invisible envelopes for each account as set-up in the desktop, and to the impossibility to balance the account unless I go to the desktop.

This app is worthless given the alternatives today. It requires too much data entry, has no ability to import or subscribe to account activity. I was duped because apple has the reviews to the current version, rather than all versions. This is a major flaw right now with the app store. Use mint or spreadsheets and save your money. DONT BUY THIS APP

Though a bit tricky to navigate at first, I have come to love this app for the way it makes me feel: totally in control of my finances. I have never felt so good, so clean, or so honest about where I am relative to where I want to be and for that reason alone, this app is a must for anyone looking to increase their financial empowerment.

I did not like this app. It was a waste of money. The what I put in the iphone does not automatically show on the ipad like some of the other apps I have tried. You have to pay extra for some of the necessary functions. I ended up spending $8 just for the app and this morning I deleted it. The desktop for mac is $40.

2 things I either could not figure out how to use OR they should be added to the application. 1. A way to delete/remove envelopes and accounts, etc. 2. When setting up a transaction/envelope, add the option to make the budget be a 1-time occurrence instead of having to have it reoccur weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.

Great app, makes budgeting a breeze. I wouldve given it 5 stars, but theres a pretty significant learning curve that pushed my patience to the limit. Once I broke through, however, I LOVED IT! Deleted all the other budgeting apps I tried.

Ive been using Budget for Mac for years - this company really knows their stuff. But because of the detail of the Mac version, I was concerned that the iPhone App would be a disappointment. But I was wrong - theyve done it again! I believe this is by far the best budgeting app available - and knowing the developer, it will only improve. Thanks Snowmint!

Ive used the envelope system for the last 4 years since becoming a Dave Ramsey fan. So glad to find this app after purchasing another recommended app that did not work for my envelope system budgeting. Few items that I wish it could do in the next update: 1) allow transfers between Accounts (not just between envelopes within the same account) 2) ability to set up bill reminders without dollar amount for variable expenses 3) ability to sync iPad app with iPhone app

When I saw my desktop budget transferred (pushed) to my iPhone and saw the envelopes on the screen (it was easy), I realized itll change the way Ive been spending all my life, by guesswork! Ill always know how much is allocated and available in my checking account with budget touch. Its well worth the peace of mind and I downloaded the add ons for enhanced features. Its all good. The Devs make a great team Ive Ive been using budget Mac for years. Theyve incorporated several enhancements I recommended and are working hard to improve budget for windows and budget touch. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the next release of budget windows and budget touch. Keep those updates coming!

This app is a scam. It requires you to buy an additional add on just to be able to use it. The ability to record income sources and then transact them to the envelopes cost extra. It is like buying a car and them being told the engine is extra. Should be removed from the AppStore. Stay far away. The one good rating it received must have been from the developer.

This app is the perfect companion to the desktop version. There are add-on features for an additional cost, but are not needed if this is used as a companion or mobile app. Perfect!

Just getting started seems to be sketchy. Im guessing you have to buy the add ons to make it work properly. Im trading emails with their CS who does seem responsive. Im editing this down to 1 star. After more communication with their CS its still a little shaky during operation plus the real scam here is that you have to purchase add ons for simple stuff like recurring bills. Any budget app that doesnt come with the ability to enter monthly items like car payments is a scam. Stay away from this one.

I hate this app!!!! I really thought it would be helpful but I cant even get it to open. What a waste!!!!!

Takes a little bit if time to get used to, but so does most budget software. I will say for me the App works the best on the iPad and my computer. Once you get the hang of it works great as a budget tool. Ive been using it for the past three years. I have it on my iPhone, iPad and Mac laptop. Syncs to all three devices. It has really helped us get control of our finances. Having to pay for add ons is a bit if a bummer, but the add ons are cheap, so its not that big if a deal. I wouldnt recommend using budget touch on your iPhone as the primary tool, but it works great in conjunction with budget on the computer. Would work fine as a primary tool on the iPad.
